dulce liquido

''dulce liquido'', a.k.a. ''racso agroyam'' or, in real life - ''oscar mayorga''. globally, a right hand of world's most famous ''dark waved electronic / aggrotech / e.b.m. / industrial'' duo called ''hocico''. for me oscar's solo career as ''dulce liquido'' is even more interesting than ''hocico'' itself. hard hitting beats, dark aesthetic & superb ''electronic'' production - ''dulce liqudo'' - one hell-of-a sound delivery:

01. ''disolución'' (2000)
02. ''shock therapy'' (e.p., 12'' c.d., promo release, 2003)
03. ''shock therapy'' (album, 2003)
04. ''spectral sound (the compilations review)'' (unofficial release, 2003)

hocico

''hocico'', mexican duo consisted of ''erik garcia'' (lyrics & vocals) a.k.a. ''erk aicrag'' or ''rabia sorda'', & ''oscar mayorga'' (synthesizer, programming) a.k.a. ''racso agroyam'' or ''dulce liquido''. submerged in the most polluted city of the world, ''mexico city'', where violence is routine & where human relationships became more & more distant, ''erik'' & ''oscar'' incited to express their feelings through technology. given the influence of varying currents of electronic music (mainly ''skinny puppy'') they began their trajectory in 1989 in a project called "niñera degenerada" (''degenerate nanny'', in english). that act was an immature shot with ''portasound'' keyboards, homemade distortion, tape samplers & homemade instruments. things were changing & in 1992 they were forming the concept of what one day would be ''hocico''. originally called "hocico de perro" (or ''dog's muzzle'', in english) & armed with a ''casio'' keyboard ''oscar'' began leaning towards their first waves of imagination inside the electronics. this stage really lasted up to 1993 when they acquired professional equipment. ''oscar'' embraced intimately the digital musical electronics & ''erik'' the vocal & lyrical expression that give rise to their music & concept today. after having finished their first recordings in late '93, ''hocico'' played their first live-concert in erik's house (february 18th, 1994), causing a great buzz among their friends & the local scene alike. soon they began to distribute their first recordings, a demo-tape called "misuse, abuse & accident" of which there were only 30 copies made. immediately they began booking concerts all over the city & country. in april of 1994 they tried including a guitarist, but he didn't seem to fit in with hocico's music & so he left a month later. in july of this year ''hocico'' began working on their first demo-tape "autoagresion persistente". in october 1994 "autoagresion persistente" was released. this recording bears a great obsession for speed & that delirium created the atmosphere of harmony with touches of orchestral instruments, strong sounds & driving beats. the lyrics reflected human situations of pain, offense, sexual abuse, suicide & death in all its many faces. here ''hocico'' showed how humanity produces these effects against itself in each selfish & destructive action. in it you feel the capacity of expression that can be obtained from the experience of the agressor to the attacked. this recording garnered rave reviews & tremendous support in the slowly growing national scene. in some european countries (belgium, slovakia, spain) & in u.s. "autoagresion presistente" was met with critical acclaim that drew ''electro'' fans to their concerts. in may of 1995 ''hocico'' together with the bands ''oxomaxoma'', ''deus ex machina'', ''cenobita'', ''soucerx'' & ''kristi artefactum'' created the "corporación" (an association of ''electro'' bands from ''mexico city''). here ''erik'' & ''oscar'' collaborated in the organization of several musical events of many genres. this association, however, no longer exists. during 1995, ''hocico'' played concerts all over ''mexico city'' & the whole of mexico. in late '95, early '96, they recorded "triste desprecio", their second album, where melancholy & fury are against prevalant. in "triste desprecio" they see humankind through furious eyes like a desolated being & reduces him to an incomplete being in world with a homocentered vision of what happens in life, like a being one lacking in intelligence enough to survive in a community. they show feelings of sadness & deep impotence through hardship & troubled times. the existentialism is evidently marked. this album also received good national & international reviews, & opened the door to release their first c.d. under the ''opcion sonica'' label, called "odio bajo el alma". this album has an implicit message of human evil. the "odio bajo el alma" has been licensed to german ''out of line'' label & italian ''submission''.
it's the end of 2011 now. many thing has been changed. ''erik'' is now more devoted to his solo career as ''rabia sorda'' & ''oscar'' is more into his solo ''dulce liquido'' project. but, after all this time they've been & they still are - the world's unsurpassed ''dark waved electronic / e.b.m. / industrial / aggrotech'' act no. 1.

* "hocico is our way of living & thinking. it is the way in which we see the behaviour of
the world, & how hope, deception & hate maintain a constant fight inside the human
conscience." (quote taken from hocico's official homepage)

[de:ad:cibel]

''[de:ad:cibel]'' are ''armin küster'' (or ''armin kuester'') & ''daniel galda'' from (as they say) ''bass machine city'', ''bitte bundesland'', region ''auswählen'', germany. one of the most interesting newcomers of todays ''electronic / e.b.m. / industrial'' scene:

* influenced by commercial & vanguard electronic music, ''armin küster'' started his musical activities with extensive sampling experiments on a low cost computer with an 8-bit soundcard back in 1992. he was fascinated by the possibilities this technology gave him. soon he replaced the soundcard with a professional sampling system, adding to it analogue & digital synthesizers. today ''armin'' operates as a musician & producer in his own studio with carefully selected equipment. he is currently working as songwriter, producer & sound designer for several projects around the world. he did a lot of songwriting for ''yello'' founder ''carlos perón'', & is busy with their collaborative project ''inca hunters''. he also acted as songwriter for ''electro / industrial'' bands like ''the 3rd culture'' & ''skorbut''. in addition to music production ''armin'' creates scores for theatre productions & advertising. he also works as a freelance journalist for music magazines. the key aspects of his musical works are dancefloor-based tracks, vanguard ''electro / industrial'' structures & sound design.

* ''daniel galda'' gained his first experience with professional music production as a student apprentice in a renowned recording studio back in 1993. Before this his activities were restricted to a small home recording setup. ''daniel'' got his first insight into stage life when he was acquired by ''ingo beitz'' as a live drummer for his trend-setting project ''kalte farben''. as support band ''kalte farben'' toured with the ''goth'' cult band ''das ich'' on their "staub-tour" across europe back in 1994. later ''daniel'' was busy on live keyboards for ''das ich''. between 1994 & 1999 ''daniel'' completed more than 200 gigs with both bands on extensive tours through america & europe. his name is mentioned on several ''kalte farben'' & ''das ich'' c.d.'s, & always in capacity as live keyboardist & stage musician. between his activities for the afore named bands, ''daniel'' established the ''electro / industrial'' band ''skorbut'' together with ''joerg huettner'' back in 1996. under the name ''skorbut'' several c.d.'s were released between 2001 & 2009. during the work on the 2007 ''skorbut'' album ''firewall'', ''daniel'' became acquainted with ''armin küster''. ''armin'' had produced several remixes for ''skorbut'' before & contributed a song to the ''firewall'' album. In 2009, the club hymn "phantom pain" was created by the ''galda / küster'' team. motivated by the fruitful collaboration ''daniel'' & ''armin'' decided to establish an own project, & so - [de:ad:cibel] was born.
